We have completed a new pipe organ for St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Houston. This modest room enjoys a comprehensive music program with a liturgically sophisticated tradition. The previous organ was located in the rear of the church, with console and choir in the front. There was a great desire to bring the entire organ to the front. To this end, the church embarked upon a comprehensive remodeling project to create new organ chambers, lower the rose window from its peak position, and enlarge the Sanctuary, making room for the new organ case. The Great and most of the Pedal are located in the center case. The Swell and Choir are located in the new side pipe chambers. The Antiphonal is in a new rear chamber. The new organ retains four stops from the previous organ, mostly in the Antiphonal.
The organ was completed in July of 2025 and will be dedicated in concert by Ken Cowan on January 31, 2026. Many thanks to Music Director John Kirk and all our new friends at St. Andrew's!
